Meet the Therapist

Hi, I’m Anna.

I’m a psychodynamic psychotherapist trained in Germany, and I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Growing up in Germany, I developed a deep understanding of how early life experiences shape who we become, which led me to pursue a career in Therapeutic Social Work. My training at the Academy of Psychotherapy in Erfurt was intensive and transformative, allowing me to truly connect with and understand the inner world of my clients.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings—outpatient psychotherapy, parent-child clinics, and psychiatry—helping young people through a wide range of challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, family struggles, and identity development. Now practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, I continue to create a warm and supportive space where my clients can explore, grow, and heal.

I believe in the power of early intervention and the profound impact it can have on emotional well-being. Helping young people navigate the complexities of growing up is something I’m truly passionate about, and I’m here to guide them on that journey toward self-discovery and resilience.

My Specialties

Sometimes, talking about your struggles isn’t enough. You may understand what hurts but you still feel:

  • Stuck, as if the past has a tight grip on you.

  • Painful memories might replay in your mind, creating an ongoing sense of unease.

  • Self-doubt can linger, leaving you feeling unworthy and making it hard to embrace growth.

  • Emotions may overwhelm you, and articulating your feelings can feel frustratingly out of reach.

  • Overwhelmed by feelings of worthlessness.

  • Guilt, or an intense need to please others, often leading to a cycle of self-criticism.

  • Feel exhausted by the weight of these emotional burdens.

  • Experiencing anxiety that makes it difficult to engage with others or withdraw due to fear of rejection.

  • desire for connection but feel trapped by self-doubt.

  • Or you may notice patterns in your relationships that leave you feeling unfulfilled, unsure how to break free from these cycles.

When words fall short, deeper healing can happen through imagery and experiential techniques—methods that connect with your emotions in ways that logic alone cannot.

What I am Doing:

An Integrated Approach for Deep Change

    • helps you understand how early relationships have influenced your sense of self and emotional world.

    • strengthens your ability to comprehend emotions—both your own and those of others. This skill can alleviate feelings of isolation and misunderstanding, fostering deeper connections with loved ones.

    • supports individuals dealing with intense emotions or relationship instability. I will help you navigate these turbulent feelings, enabling you to develop healthier patterns of relating to others.

    • is designed to break lifelong patterns that stem from early experiences. By identifying and addressing these schemas, you can gain clarity on how they impact your current relationships and sense of self-worth.

    • works with the different parts of yourself that may hold unprocessed emotions or trauma. I will help you acknowledge these parts and facilitate healing, allowing you to integrate these experiences and move forward with greater resilience.

Healing Through Imagery & Experience

    • When past experiences still feel raw, IRRT helps rewrite their emotional impact, so they no longer hold power over you.

    • Through symbolic images, we uncover unconscious conflicts and gently process them, helping you move forward with greater clarity.

    • Many struggles—self-criticism, fears, or patterns in relationships—stem from wounds carried since childhood. I help you reconnect with younger parts of yourself, offering the compassion and healing they never received.

    • Our subconscious often speaks through dreams and unspoken emotions. Exploring these in therapy can bring powerful insights and lasting change.
